Established in 1930s

When you drive through the gates of the St. Augustine Rod & Gun Club, the first thing you notice is the beautiful old oaks and the big Red Barn of a building.

That old barn of a building did not always look like it does now. It was built in the 1930s, had no sides, and only a dirt floor. In the center of that floor was a circular pit—a cockpit. The building was built for cockfighting.

Today the Elery Price “Big House” offers a rustic setting with tile floors, a cozy fireplace, kitchen facilities, and tables and chairs to arrange for your event. The lights around the walls came from the Bridge of Lions, and the two Knights of armor are there to guard the festivities.

The rafters have often been the perfect spot for a chandelier, and a chandelier has sometimes hung from the big sprawling oak outside to light those special “I do’s”.

This St. Augustine Rod & Gun Club is perfect for weddings, business meetings, memorial services, dinners, graduations and celebrations of all kinds!

We are a long way from a dirt floor, and cocks crowing in the pit. Come and enjoy this rustic setting as much as we do. We look forward to providing a unique and beautiful setting for your event.
